PLATFORM POINT 1: REAL TAX RELIEF
Give taxpayers room to breathe.
Prince George families and businesses are being squeezed by years of above-inflation tax increases. Dan’s first act on council will be to push for a two-year freeze on property tax increases, giving households and local businesses room to breathe.
That freeze isn’t a blank check to keep spending as-is — it comes paired with a full, line-by-line operational review of city spending to find real savings. That review will not touch frontline services like police and fire. Instead, it targets the layers of management and duplication that have crept into city hall over time.
Dan’s goal is to flatten the organizational chart, eliminate duplication, and put an end to what he calls “intentional over-taxation” — with real, sustained tax reductions to follow once the freeze proves the city can do more with what it already collects.

PLATFORM POINT 2: SAFER STREETS
Public safety should be responsive, not passive.
Too many Prince George residents have watched cases where police did their job, made an arrest, and recommended charges — only to see the file go nowhere because Crown counsel declined to prosecute.
Dan is advocating for the City to fund four lawyers embedded directly with the Prince George RCMP detachment to assist with the day-to-day administration of justice. Just as importantly, these lawyers would be positioned to pursue private prosecutions under Sections 504 and 507 of the Criminal Code in the cases where Crown prosecutors decline to advance charges the police recommended.
Dan’s position is straightforward: public safety policy should be responsive, not passive, when the gap between a police recommendation and a Crown decision leaves victims and neighbourhoods without answers.

Prince George has the location, the workforce, and the infrastructure to compete for investment across Northern BC — but the city has too often taken a passive approach, waiting for employers to come knocking.
Dan believes Prince George needs to go get the jobs, not wait for them. That means proactive, hands-on business attraction: direct outreach to prospective employers, rather than another glossy brochure sitting on a shelf.
And it starts from a foundation of fiscal discipline and public safety — because low taxes and safe streets are the first steps to attracting jobs and improving lives. You can’t out-market a reputation for high costs and declining safety; you have to fix the fundamentals first, then go sell the city with confidence.
