After having three of his downtown Prince George buildings burnt down, council candidate Dan McLaren has seen enough.
He wants council to make it a priority to tackle crime, vagrancy and poverty in the city core and wants a seat at city hall to have a direct role in finding solutions.
Speaking with CKPG News’ Lead News Anchor Adam Berls as part of the station’s election coverage, the local business owner and financial advisor outlined what he calls his “Great City” platform, built around three priorities: keeping costs down for taxpayers, improving public safety, and encouraging economic growth.
Prince George financial advisor launched his campaign for city council on Tuesday, July 21 by pledging to fight for a two-year property tax break and to hire lawyers to pursue private prosecutions on the city’s behalf.
Long-time Prince George businessman Dan McLaren is making taxation, public safety and economic development the cornerstones of his campaign for city council, arguing that residents need financial relief and stronger action to address issues affecting the community.
